Material with Student: Self-Correcting Material

-Flap: can be made from any flexible material {cloth, construction paper, etc.}. Student can bend or flip up a side to find the correct answer to a question/problem.

-Windows: Small windows can be cut into a material to provide the student with the correct answer to a problem/question.

-Stylus: Feedback can be provided by using a stylus with certain types of stimulus cards.

-Matching Cards: Sets of cards are prepared with the problem or question on one card and the answer on another. The backs have a picture or some item that the student must match to select the correct answer. If the images or symbol on the back of cards do not match, the answer is incorrect.

-Pocket: Pockets can be made by stapling envelopes to the back of the learning material. They can be used to hold some sort of answer key and to provide feedback.

-Holes: Problems can be written on one side of a card or sheet, and a hole is punched beside or underneath each item. The answer to each problem is written on the back of the card next to or under the hole. The student answers question and puts a pipe cleaner through the hole next to the answer the choose, they then turn over the card to check answer.

-Clips : Responses to questions or problems can be made by clipping clothespins to the edge of the segment. The students checks the answer by turning over the board and checking answer.

-Strips in folder: Strips can be cut on one side of a manila folder, which is then laminated. Worksheets are then placed into the folder, along with the answers. The answers or not presented until the student completes the worksheets and pulls it up to reveal the answer.

-Simple board game: any task that can be presented on a card and performed in a few seconds.

-Mystery Detective: Reading comprehension that includes sensory clue cards: who what, when, where, why, or how.

Self-Correcting Material to reach IEP goal of letter formations:

-I would use the flap system to showcase how each and every letter should be formed on pre-lined paper {both capital and lowercase}.

-This link showcases matching cards for handwriting: student could practice writing each letter than finding the letter on the cards to double check letter formation.
